Mohandas Karamchad Gandhi, commonly known worldwide as Mahatma Gandhi, was a prominent spiritual and political leader in India throughout the 1930s. He was known for his peaceful protests and hunger strikes, all in the name of restoring Indian soverignty and driving out the rule of the British Empire.
In 1934, there were three unsuccessful attempts on Gandhi's life.
