Franklin D. Roosevelt

Franklin Delano Roosevelt (born January 30, 1882) was the 32nd President of the United States, first elected in 1932 and serving from 1933 through the end of the decade.

In his first term, Roosevelt launched the New Deal, a set of programs intended to combat the ongoing crisis of the Great Depression. He was married to Eleanor Roosevelt, his fifth cousin once removed, and had six children, five of whom survived.
