This Wiki is dedicated to gathering every nuance of the world from January 1st, 1930 to December 31st, 1939.

It is mostly intended as an aid to writers of Historical Fiction, as well as all students of History.

Why the Thirties? Edit

The Thirties were a very interesting decade, and very significant in shaping World History. Events like The Great Depression, the rise of Adolf Hitler and the falling of American Prohibition helped shape the world into what it is today, and their effects can still be felt. That makes it a very important and stimulating topic of study, and a rich source of story material.

Anything I should know about editing? Edit

Cite 'em if you got 'em, but you don't have to worry about references all that much, really. This is not wikipedia, although there are benefits to listing your sources. It can strengthen your arguments, for one, and also, some might find it helpful to check out the other material.

Try to avoid going past 1939, unless it's important or necessary for comprehension. (For example, noting the absence of the State of Israel until 1945 to explain its absence on the Nations Index.) Bringing up the past is a trickier issue, since it does influence later events, so use your own discretion, and use external links when necessary.

Well, that's about all I have to say for now. Welcome to the Wiki, and thank you for checking it out. Any help you can offer is welcome, and your interest is very much appreciated.
